Citing disciplinary reasons, World Wrestling Federation
officials kept Triple H in relative obscurity for more than one
year before he broke free and captured the 1997 King of the
Ring. A few months prior to his royal coronation, Hunter
enlisted the services of Chyna and his career began to take an
upward swing. After reaching a great deal of success
throughout the subsequent months, Hunter aligned himself with
close friend Shawn Michaels to form D-Generation X and
change the face of wrestling forever.

After Shawn lost the Federation Title to Stone Cold Steve
Austin at WrestleMania XIV, Triple H truly asserted himself as
